Brianna Gardocki gets inspired by opening the fridge. She lets her imagination run wild from there, and the results are impossible not to smile at.

Brianna Gardocki's inspirations arrive from almost everywhere at once. "I get inspiration from everywhere, mainly from animals, people, songs, places, and the changing seasons," she says. "Recently, I've been into drawing bugs, fruit, and other summertime imagery."

One idea came from a fridge. "The other day, I opened the fridge to find a third of a watermelon. It immediately gave me an idea for a cool watermelon dude hanging out with his fruit friends," she says. The result is the Fruit Gang, a trio of anthropomorphic characters that captures exactly what she values most about making things: "I enjoy the serendipity of life. I like being inspired by the moment and letting my imagination run wild."

That playfulness is entirely deliberate. "I hope my work brings joy and laughter into the world. My art is vibrant and playful, and I love the idea of someone smiling or giggling when they see it," she says. "I personally am a big fan of laughing, so I like to sprinkle a little bit of humor into my work."

For Gardocki, the stakes are clear and cheerfully low. "I don't think art (or people) should take themselves too seriously. Let your life be filled with fun, happiness, and color!"
